Biography

Ikeda Tachū was a physician whose medical knowledge and practice contributed to the health and welfare of his community during the nineteenth century. His dedication to the healing arts reflected the growing sophistication of medical practice in Meiji Japan.

Ikeda Tachū devoted his life to medicine and passed away in 1872 at the age of fifty-two. He was laid to rest at Yanaka Cemetery, where his legacy is remembered as part of the community of respected practitioners and scholars of his time.
