Biography
Imre Farkas (1879–1976) lived nearly a century, witnessing Hungary's transformation from the Austro-Hungarian Empire through two world wars and into the modern era. His long life provided perspective on the dramatic historical changes that shaped Central Europe throughout the twentieth century.
Farkas's ninety-seven years encompassed periods of imperial stability, war, revolution, and socialist governance. He was laid to rest at Farkasréti Cemetery, one of Budapest's most distinguished burial grounds.
