Biography

Imre Szőke spent his professional life shaping the facades and interiors of Budapest, embracing the dialogue between tradition and the newer architectural currents that reached the city in his lifetime.

His commissions were noted for their measured ornamentation and civic sensitivity, and he is laid to rest at the Kozma Street Jewish Cemetery as a figure who kept the built environment attentive to the lives of many.
