Biography
Irena Kołodziejska was a courageous Polish resistance fighter who played an active role in the underground struggle against Nazi occupation during World War II. Born in 1921, she demonstrated exceptional bravery in her commitment to Polish independence and the protection of her countrymen.
Kołodziejska's heroic service in the resistance movement ended tragically in 1944 when she was killed at the age of 23. Her sacrifice exemplified the dedication of Polish women who fought in the underground, and she is honored for her patriotism at Powązki Military Cemetery in Warsaw.
