Iryna Shukhevych

Biography

Iryna Shukhevych, born in 1885, lived much of her later life in Hamptonburgh, where she was a respected member of the Ukrainian-American community. She supported immigrant families, organized cultural gatherings, and helped keep the language and traditions of her homeland alive for younger generations.

Whether through the church choir, charitable campaigns, or the quiet hospitality of her home, she demonstrated a deep love for both her heritage and her adopted town, always encouraging harmony and mutual support among neighbors.
