Isaac Newton, arriving in 1800, devoted himself to the advancement of education and agricultural enterprise, helping to build institutions that would benefit future generations while always remaining accessible to those who sought his counsel.

He continued to foster civic well-being until his death in 1867, and his loved ones interred him at Mount Vernon Cemetery as a tribute to a life spent in service to others.
