Biography
Rabbi Israel Goldstein, an American-born leader of the Reform movement, carried his pulpit voice and Zionist passion to encompass decades of advocacy for Jewish unity, educational institutions, and the State of Israel; he traveled widely to galvanize support and to found centers of learning and philanthropy.
His writings and public service inspired congregations and governments alike, and he rests in Sanhedria Cemetery among the many he encouraged to deepen their faith and public responsibility.
