Biography

Israel Levi Philipp Riess (1761–1809) was a member of Berlin's Jewish community during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. He lived during a period of gradual social and legal reform that would shape the future of Jewish life in Prussia.

Riess is remembered through his burial at the Jüdischer Friedhof Berlin-Mitte, the historic Jewish cemetery that preserves the memory of generations of Berlin's Jewish residents and their contributions to the community.
