Biography

István Fáÿ contributed to Hungary’s musical heritage as a composer whose works echoed both the solemnity and the joy of his homeland. His melodies found their place in sacred and civic settings alike, reflecting a sensitive mastery of harmony.

He died in 1862, and though he rests in the Minorite Church in Miskolc, his compositions continue to offer solace and inspiration to listeners today.
