Ivan Jakovlevitsj Serzjantov was born in 1919 in Rostov-on-Don and served as an aircraft pilot in the Soviet air force during World War II. He represented the skilled and brave aviators who fought for air superiority during the conflict.
He fell in 1943, one of many talented pilots who gave their lives defending Soviet airspace against the Luftwaffe.
