Ivan Lichev combined mercantile success with a commitment to his homeland, supporting religious and civic projects that strengthened Plovdiv’s communal life.

He invested in the churches of Sts. Cyril and Methodius and St. Alexander Nevsky, believing the prosperity of trade was tied to spiritual and cultural wellbeing.
