Biography

Iwan Pawłunowski was a Soviet politician who contributed to the development of Soviet governance during the 1920s and 1930s. Born in 1888, he served in various state capacities during the formative years of the USSR.

Pawłunowski was executed at the Kommunarka shooting ground in 1937 during the Great Purge. His death was part of the systematic elimination of Soviet officials that characterized Stalin's terror during this period.
