Biography
Jack Buck, born in 1924, became the beloved voice of St. Louis Cardinals baseball, delivering play-by-play with passion while also calling games for the NFL and other major sports, work that earned him the Ford C. Frick Award and widespread acclaim.
He championed youth and charitable causes across the region, inspired his son Joe to enter the broadcast booth, and was laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery after his 2002 passing.
