Jakob Friedmann

Biography

Jakob Friedmann was born in 1826 and lived through nearly a century of profound change in Central European Jewish life. His long existence witnessed the transformation of Jewish communities from the early nineteenth century through the early twentieth century.

Friedmann passed away in 1919 at an advanced age and was interred in the Jewish cemetery in Brno. His ninety-three years of life represent a remarkable span of Jewish history in Moravia, connecting earlier generations with the modern era.
