Jakub Husník

Biography
Born in 1837, Jakub Husník used the early art of photography to record the people and places of Prague with a clear, respectful eye, helping the faithful keep hold of their memories.
His work offered a calm witness to the city as it changed around him, and after his death in 1916 he was laid to rest in Olšany Cemetery, where visitors continue to honor the steady gaze of his camera.
