Biography

Jakub Ludwik Flatau (1800–1862) was a Polish businessperson whose commercial activities contributed to Warsaw's economic development in the nineteenth century. His work in business reflected the growing mercantile and entrepreneurial activity within Polish society during this period.

Flatau's role as a businessperson and his membership in Warsaw's Jewish community are reflected in his burial at the Okopowa Street Jewish Cemetery. His life represents the important economic and cultural contributions of Jewish merchants and entrepreneurs to nineteenth-century Warsaw.
