James Banyard

Biography

James Banyard lived during the early nineteenth century, from 1800 to 1863, participating in the life of his community. Though details of his life remain sparse, his presence is marked by a headstone and surrounds near the Church of St Andrew, a testament to his place in local history.

Banyard's memorial, located approximately sixteen metres south of the south west angle of the south porch of the Church of St Andrew, preserves his memory for posterity. His sixty-three years of life spanned a period of considerable change in British society and culture.
