Biography

James F. Baker (1806–1850) lived during the dynamic middle decades of the nineteenth century, a period marked by significant change and development in American society. His life, though relatively brief, occurred during years of considerable national transformation and growth.

Baker's memory is preserved at New Pittsburg Cemetery, where he rests as part of the community whose members lived through and contributed to the evolving character of their era.
