Biography
James F. Grinstead rose from commerce to become a prominent businessman, and when Louisville's citizens called on him to lead the city he brought a steady hand to the mayoralty, overseeing investments in utilities and public services.
He served on boards of charities, supported cultural institutions, and remained devoted to civic life even after leaving office, leaving a legacy of dignified public service and being laid to rest at Cave Hill Cemetery.
