Biography

James Freeman Clarke (1810–1888) served as a Unitarian minister, author, and reformer who inspired congregations with eloquent sermons on compassion, equality, and moral courage.

He lent his voice to abolition, temperance, and peace movements, shepherding his flock toward a future of justice, and his memory lives on at Forest Hill Cemetery.
