Biography
James G. Blunt (1826-1881) spent his years tending farmland and supporting the rural neighborhood that surrounded Mount Muncie Cemetery, ever mindful of the toil and tenderness required to sustain a household in the 19th century. He took pride in the horizons of open fields and the friendships that blossomed among neighbors working side by side.
Those who followed him recall a man who valued perseverance, who welcomed a helping hand from others, and who quietly encouraged the youth in his circle to look beyond the harvest to the good they could do for one another.
