James Goss
1940–1980 (age 40)
Biography
James Goss spent his adult life nurturing the youth of his town and carrying the hopeful pulse of the 1960s into every classroom and neighborhood block he touched. He was a trusted coach, a neighbor who mowed lawns for elders, and a faithful voice at Center Baptist, where he found strength in prayer and practice.
His unexpected passing in 1980 left a quiet hole in the church fellowship, yet his stories and the encouragement he freely gave are still retold alongside Sunday coffee. He now rests in the verdant shade of the Center Baptist Church Cemetery.
