Biography

James Hagerty was a journalist who served as press secretary to President Dwight D. Eisenhower, helping to shape the modern relationship between the White House and the American press corps.

His thoughtful stewardship of information and continued work in journalism kept the public informed on world events, and his service is commemorated at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library, Museum and Boyhood Home.
