James Jones

Biography

James Jones represented Georgia in the United States Congress during the first years of the nineteenth century, bringing the perspectives of his state to the national dialogue and supporting the development of republican institutions.

Though his career was cut short, his commitment to the new federal experiment endures at Congressional Cemetery, where he was laid to rest among fellow builders of the nation.
