Biography

James Lewis Austin (1851–1916) forged a life grounded in the values of diligence and care, always mindful of the comfort and security of those closest to him. He met each stage of life with an unpretentious determination to do the right thing.

Those who knew him recall his steady counsel and readiness to help, and he now lies in Mount Pleasant Cemetery among generations of neighbors.
