James N. Glover (1838-1921) arrived with an entrepreneurial spirit that helped transform what had been wilderness into a thriving town. He invested in railroads, sawmills, and civic buildings, ensuring that the rough frontier camp could grow into a stable community.

In his later years he persisted in championing public amenities and mentoring younger leaders, never losing sight of the people who had labored with him. He was laid to rest at Greenwood Memorial Terrace, leaving a memory of steady stewardship for future generations.
