James Owen

Biography

James Owen's life stretched from the early years of the republic into the aftermath of the Civil War, and during that span he remained a steady presence among those who knew him in and around the Oakdale community.

He was regarded for his unwavering care for family and neighbors, and though the historical record holds few flashier details, his reliable support and quiet wisdom provided comfort to many in a time of national upheaval; today he rests at Oakdale Cemetery.
