Biography

James P. Scoblick was born in 1909 in Pennsylvania, and after attending college he entered the family business before winning election to the U.S. House of Representatives, where he served during World War II and advocated for his Appalachian constituents.

Following his congressional service he returned to his region to manage business interests and continue civic engagement, remaining a pillar of the community until his death; he rests at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery.
