James Perkins

Biography

James Perkins was born in 1761 and became a familiar figure around the Old Burying Ground, tending a trade, encouraging apprentices, and offering practical help to those who passed through the town.

He supported the meetinghouse, shared food during lean winters, and, even if he never sought praise, left a legacy of kindness that neighbors still honor today.
