James Petigru Boyce

Biography

James Petigru Boyce (1827-1888) built a lasting reputation as a minister, theology professor, and the founding leader of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville.

He guided aspiring pastors with disciplined scholarship and pastoral care, leaving behind an institution and a witness of faith that remain part of the Cave Hill community.
