Biography
Born in 1864, James Tancred answered the call of the sea during a period of great change for the Royal Navy, dedicating his life to disciplined service and the well-being of the sailors under his charge.
In later years he cherished the fellowship of St Margaret and St Andrew's Church, Littleham, Exmouth, where his example of calm leadership and quiet generosity strengthened the parish community; he passed in 1943, leaving colleagues and neighbors grateful for his steadfast guardianship.
