James Vick

Biography

James Vick, born in 1818, gained renown as a seedsman and horticulturist whose publications and catalogs helped gardeners across the country cultivate beautiful and productive landscapes. His practical guidance and commitment to quality seed raised horticulture from a pastime to a passionate calling for many.

He died in 1882 and was laid to rest in Mount Hope Cemetery, where admirers continue to celebrate his contributions to America's green spaces.
