Jan Bontjes van Beek

Biography

Jan Bontjes van Beek was a distinguished German sculptor whose artistic career spanned much of the twentieth century. Born in 1899, he developed a significant body of work that contributed to modern sculptural practice in Germany.

Van Beek's sculptures reflected the evolving artistic movements of his era, and his work remained influential throughout his career until his death in 1969. He was laid to rest at Zehlendorf Forest Cemetery, a final resting place befitting his cultural contributions to German art.
