Biography

Jan Piróg (1925–2005) was a Polish resident who lived through the most turbulent century in Polish history. His life encompassed the Nazi occupation, the communist period, and Poland's eventual transition to democracy and independence.

Piróg's long life allowed him to witness the transformation of his nation. He is remembered in Lublin, where he was laid to rest at cmentarz komunalny na Majdanku, a cemetery that honors many who lived through Poland's complex history.
