Jan Šír

Biography

Jan Šír was a dedicated educator who spent his career teaching and shaping the minds of generations of students in Pardubice. As a teacher, he contributed to the intellectual and cultural development of his community during a period of significant social and political transformation in Central Europe.

Šír's long career in education extended well into the 20th century, allowing him to witness and participate in the educational changes that accompanied the birth of the Czechoslovak nation. He passed away in 1928 and was laid to rest in Pardubice, the city where he had devoted much of his life to the cause of education.
