Jan Svátek was a Czech bookseller whose work connected readers with literature and ideas throughout his lifetime. Operating in Prague's intellectual circles, he played a role in the dissemination of knowledge and culture during the early-to-mid twentieth century.

Svátek's dedication to the book trade reflects the importance of cultural merchants in preserving and sharing Czech literary heritage. He was laid to rest at Olšany Cemetery, a testament to his place in Prague's cultural community.
