Biography
Jane Romanes was a steadfast presence in her community, remembered for her warm hospitality and for supporting the civic and cultural activities that sustained local society during a life that spanned much of the 19th century.
Through her patronage of charitable efforts and encouragement of younger relatives entering service, she helped ensure that the family name was linked with generosity, and Rosebank Cemetery shelters her memory as one of those who quietly held families and neighborhoods together.
