Biography

János Jerney (1800–1855) was a Hungarian jurist whose legal scholarship and practice contributed to the development of Hungarian law and jurisprudence in the 19th century. His career reflected the modernization of legal institutions and the growing importance of trained legal professionals in Hungarian society.

Jerney's work in law and legal scholarship helped shape the intellectual foundations of Hungarian legal tradition. He was laid to rest at the Fiume Road Graveyard, a burial place that honored many of Hungary's most accomplished legal and cultural figures.
