Biography

Jaroslav Volf was a Czech sculptor born in 1896 in Kladno, a major industrial center in Bohemia. Throughout his career, he contributed to the artistic heritage of the Czech lands, working in the sculptural tradition during a transformative period in Central European art.

Volf's work reflected the cultural developments of early-to-mid twentieth century Czechoslovakia. He remained active in his artistic practice until his death in 1977, leaving behind a legacy as a craftsman of the sculptural arts during an era of significant social and political change.
