Jean Allemane
1843–1935 (age 92)
Politician/Activist
Biography
Jean Allemane embodied the fervour of early French socialism, surviving imprisonment for his participation in the Paris Commune, advocating for unemployed workers, and creating the Allemanist movement that demanded social justice from every government.
In his later years he continued to speak for labour rights, never abandoning the ideals of fraternity, and Père Lachaise holds his memory as that of a lifelong activist for the common people.
