Biography

Bishop Jean-Baptiste Brondel, born in 1842, embraced ecclesiastical service with a sense of deep reverence, ministering to the people of Helena during a formative era for the region. He oversaw the growth of parishes while encouraging education and charity, always mindful of his flock’s needs.

He traveled widely across Montana, comforted the sick, and supported schools for children of every background. His leadership left a lasting imprint on the spiritual and civic life of Helena when he passed in 1903.
