Biography

Jean-Baptiste de Belloy was born in 1709 and had a long life spanning nearly a century. As a politician, he served France through multiple regimes and witnessed the transformation of the nation from the ancien régime through the Revolutionary period.

He died in 1808 at an advanced age and was interred at Notre-Dame de Paris, one of France's most venerable institutions, honoring his long service to the state.
