Biography

Jean-Baptiste Willermoz was a French writer and intellectual who contributed to the literary and philosophical discourse of his era. Born in 1730, he witnessed the full span of the Enlightenment and its aftermath, producing works that reflected the intellectual currents of his time.

Willermoz's literary legacy extended throughout a long life, concluding in 1824. He was laid to rest at Cimetière de Loyasse in Lyon, a fitting resting place for a man of letters who engaged with the ideas and movements that shaped eighteenth and nineteenth-century France.
