Biography
Jean Moulin, born in 1899, rose from a career in law and civil administration to become the prefect entrusted with defending republican values, and when the country fell into occupation he became the embodiment of unity, organizing the various resistance movements under one banner for General de Gaulle.
He was captured in 1943 after tireless travel across France, and though he died in custody, the vision he set in motion and the sacrifice he made are commemorated in the Panthéon as a testament to unified resistance.
