Biography
Jedediah Hotchkiss became renowned as the cartographer entrusted with mapping Stonewall Jackson's campaigns, producing meticulous topographical studies that helped commanders understand the rugged terrain of the Valley.
When peace returned he taught geography and military sketching to cadets, continuing to interpret Virginia's landscapes through lecture and map, and guiding future generations of engineers and historians.
