Jehu Baker

Biography

Jehu Baker was born in 1822 and dedicated many years to public service, including representing Illinois in the U.S. Congress during the Reconstruction era.

After serving the nation he returned to care for his neighbors and now rests in Green Mount Protestant Cemetery, where his civic contributions remain part of the local memory.
