Biography
Jindřich Šilhan was born in 1907 and grew up in the newly independent Czechoslovak state, experiencing the optimism and challenges of the interwar period before witnessing the profound upheavals of the mid-twentieth century. His life embodied the experiences of his generation in Central Europe.
Šilhan passed away in 1957 and was interred in Vinohrady Cemetery in Prague, where he rests among the many who lived through this remarkable and transformative period in Czech history.
