Jiří Beaufort (1895–1976) operated presses that churned out books, posters, and broadsheets, ensuring that writers and thinkers could circulate their words even in challenging times.
He supervised apprentices, insisted on clarity of type, and kept the print shops vital; he rests now at Vyšehrad cemetery, where his craft continues to be remembered.
