Biography

Jiří Grossmann (1941–1971) was a Czech screenwriter whose career, though brief, contributed to Czechoslovak cinema during a creatively vibrant period. He worked during the 1960s and early 1970s, a time of significant artistic innovation in Czech filmmaking. Grossmann's screenwriting reflected the cultural dynamism of Prague's artistic community.

Grossmann's life was tragically cut short at age thirty, yet his contributions to cinema endured beyond his lifetime. He was interred at Vinohrady Cemetery in 1971, a final resting place that honors his memory among Prague's cultural figures and the broader Czech artistic heritage.
