Joel Barlow

Biography

Joel Barlow (1754–1812) was a distinguished poet and diplomat whose intellectual contributions shaped early American letters and foreign relations. His literary works and diplomatic service reflected the ideals of the Enlightenment and the young republic.

Barlow's significant career was cut short by his death in 1812, but his influence endured through his writings and the diplomatic missions he undertook on behalf of his nation. He was interred at Great Pasture Road Cemetery, where his memory remains honored.
